Marsy

What if a day that just slipped by recorded itself?

No diary to keep. Traces like steps, sleep, and workouts gather on their own, Marsy asks a short question at a good moment, and the day stays as a record.

Your day has been woven into a record

Thursday, March 12

Fell asleep well past midnight. The morning started just as slowly, and it was almost ten before the first coffee.

Took a long walk near the office at lunch. The most I've walked all week. Left one line along the way. “My head feels a little lighter.”

Eight in the evening. Was walking out of the gym when Marsy asked how the day had been. Paused for a moment, then wrote that it was better than expected.

The end of the day. This entry was woven from those traces.

What Marsy does

  1. 01

Most of it gathers on its own

Traces like steps, sleep, workouts, and plans quietly pile up on your phone. They're organized there first, and only what's truly needed goes to the server.

    Today's traces

    • 07:12Woke up
    • 09:30First event started
    • 12:40Took a long walk
    • 20:10Workout planned

It asks briefly, only at good moments

After a workout, on waking up, as the evening winds down. It doesn't ping you at random times. One line is enough, and skipping is fine.

    How are you right now?

Your day becomes a piece of writing

The gathered traces and short answers are woven into a record of that day. Open it months later, and the you of that day is right there.

What Marsy doesn't do

  • It doesn't score your day

    There's no "7 out of 10 today." A day isn't a number.

  • It doesn't count missed days

No streaks, no flame badges. When you come back, you just pick up where you left off.

  • It doesn't cheer you on for the sake of it

No "What an amazing day!" It respects the weight of what you actually wrote.

  • It doesn't turn your diary into homework

You don't have to write every day. The traces are gathering anyway.

A few things up front

It never records your surroundings
Marsy is not listening. The microphone turns on only while you hold the button, and it's always visible on screen while it's on.
Traces don't leave your phone without good reason
The day's signals are organized on your phone first. What goes to the server is the minimum needed to weave your diary.
Voice recordings are erased after 30 days
Your voice becomes text, and the original deletes itself after 30 days. You can erase it sooner yourself.
Your records belong to you
See what's being collected right at the top of Settings, turn off anything you don't want, and download or delete everything at any time.

Who's making this

It's being made by someone who always wanted a diary but never kept one past three days. Records shouldn't belong only to the diligent. Right now I'm quietly refining it alone.

Frequently asked questions

What is Marsy?

An app that gathers the traces of your day (steps, sleep, workouts, plans) and your short answers, then weaves them into a record of the day with AI. It hasn't launched yet and is getting ready through early access.

How is this different from a diary app?

A diary app needs you to sit down and write. With Marsy, the traces gather on their own and one line is enough for an answer. Even days you write nothing still end up recorded.

What does it collect, and how far does it go?

Signals like steps, sleep, workouts, and plans are organized on your phone first. Only the minimum needed to weave your diary goes to the server, and it never listens to your surroundings. You can see everything it collects in Settings and turn any of it off anytime.

Do I have to answer every day?

No. The traces gather on their own, so even a day you skip still gets recorded. There's no need to treat it like a chore.

When does it launch?

Right now it's just me, quietly refining it in private. Leave your email and you'll be invited in order as soon as it's ready.

How much is it?

Free during early access. If a paid plan ever comes, you'll be told clearly and well in advance.
